Skyfall Sets Seven-Day U.K. Box Office Record

If the international response to the 23rd installment to the James Bond franchise is any indication as to how the film will fare when it opens in the U.S. next week, Skyfall looks as though it is gearing up to be one of the biggest money-makers of the year. Following a huge international opening weekend, Skyfall has now brought in the biggest opening week of all time at the U.K. box office.

According to Eon Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, Skyfall made upwards of $60 million in its opening week in the U.K. The Daniel Craig-driven action thriller passes previous U.K. Record holder Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which earned $57.6 million in its opening week last summer.

Skyfall opens in the U.S. one week from today.
