Sleigh Bells managed to squeeze a little time in the studio to record new material for an album that is expected to be released in 2013.
The band seemed to be everywhere last year. They had endless tour dates, countless festival appearances and even became tour guides showing Anthony Bourdain the ropes at SXSW for his show No Reservations. Even with all this going on they still managed to take some time to write and work on new material. They recently sat down with the Huffington Post to discuss how all the success from the first two albums have pushed them back into the studio to begin work on the third.
“Success never paralyzes us,” Alexis Krauss told Huffington Post. “It pushes us forward constantly. We’re half-way through the new record.”
The quick turn around for a new record may have something to due with the dynamic between Krauss and fellow band mate Derek Miller. Since it is just the two of them they found that they are able to record in a quick manner.
“Bands are complex units with four of five guys or girls, and everyone needs to agree. Alexis and I get along and we’re electric so we don’t need a practice space
we can just work on this or that,” said Miller.
While there is no official release date, fans can hopefully look forward to the release of their third album in 2013. Sleigh Bells have already recorded three tracks for the album.
