Days after announcing a large-scale U.S. tour, Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Mangum joined an impressive cast of musicians at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge last night to help benefit debt relief for regular Americans.
Mangum took the stage with Fugazi’s Guy Picciotto to peform a cover of New Zealand band Tall Dwarfs’ song “Sign on the Dotted Line.” Picciotto only contributed acoustic guitar and minimal vocal harmonies, however, allowing the bearded Mangum to steal the show.
Other musicians attending the Strike Debt benefit included Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, Kool A.D. of Das Racist and TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone and Tunde Adebimpe.
