Shortly after their sophomore album Babel was released, U.K. rockers Mumford and Sons stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theater to perform an hour-long “Live on Letterman” set. A portion of the performance was scheduled to air the same night British Prime Minister David Cameron appeared on The Late Show, but because the interview went long Mumford and Sons was bumped.
Last night, the band’s “Live on Letterman” rendition of Babel’s spirited lead single “I Will Wait” finally aired. Though the performance was recorded in September, Letterman, to the delight of the studio audience, pretended Mumford and Sons were actually off screen warming up as he was introducing them.
Check out their performance of “I Will Wait” below (via The Audio Perv). Below that you can watch Mumford and Sons’ “Live on Letterman” set in its entirety.
