J.K. Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy may not hit the silver screen anytime soon, but the author’s first book after her successful Harry Potter series has found a home on television. The BBC is set to adapt The Casual Vacancy for the small screen.
Rowling will be involved in the project, which is expected to air in 2014. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she said “I always felt that, if it were to be adapted, this novel was best suited to television, and I think the BBC is the perfect home.”
The Casual Vacancy is Rowling’s first novel for adults.
