Project X Named Most Pirated Film of 2012

Perhaps fitting for a film chronicling the misadventures of a group of delinquent teens who want nothing more than to throw the sickest party of the year, Project X has been named the most pirated film of 2012 by TorrentFreak.

X beat out box-office smashes Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers for the top sot.

What’s surprising is Project X’s low critical appeal as well as its poor performance at the box-office compared to the other films that saw high illegal downloads. Project X made a mere $54 million in the U.S. while the film was downloaded almost 9 million times worldwide.
