James Bond is doing okay for a spy celebrating his 50th anniversary. Skyfall, the latest flick in the popular spy series, beat out James Cameron’s Avatar to become the U.K.’s top grossing film of all time, Variety reports. Skyfall’s U.K./Ireland sales recently hit $151.9 million after 40 days in theaters versus Avatar’s lifetime gross of $151.5 million.
In a press release, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli stated, “We’re overwhelmed with gratitude to the cinema-going audiences in the U.K. who have made Skyfall the highest grossing film of all time. We are very proud of this film and thank everybody, especially Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes, who have contributed to its success.”
Skyfall broke another record in the United States when it was released, having the highest opening weekend for any Bond film. The film has made a total of $246.7 million during its domestic box office run.
