Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Johnny Depp to Appear on Massive Pirate-Themed Compilation

While working of the film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in 2006, Johnny Depp teamed up with producer Hal Willner and director Gore Verbinski to put together a collection of pirate songs that featured Lou Reed, Nick Cave, Bono and more.

Depp, Willner and Verbinski have now decided to work up a sequel to their original compilation, Rogue’s Gallery, called Son of Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys, which will be out Feb. 19 on Anti-. For the two-disc sequel, Depp and company have enlisted the talents of pretty much every musicians whom you’d think might appear on a pirate compilation, including Waits, Reed, Iggy Pop, Keith Richards, Dr. John, Michael Gira, Patti Smith and many more. Several actors also appear on Son of Rogue’s Gallery, including Tim Robbins, Angelica Huston and Depp himself.
