Toronto Film Critics Name <i>The Master</i> Year’s Best Film

The Toronto Film Critics Association has announced its list of honorees, with Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master garnering several accolades, including film of the year. Michael Haneke’s Amour and Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty were recognized as the runner-ups.

The Master also received the top honors for best director and screenplay (Paul Thomas Anderson), while star Philip Seymour Hoffman was awarded best supporting actor.

The Toronto Film Critics Association will gather on Jan. 8 to hand out its full list of awards.
