7-Eleven Gets Bold Rebrand

The container for the infamous cherry Coke Surpees and Big Gulp cups are getting a rebrand, along with the rest of the products in 7-Eleven stores. The convenience store giant worked with Scandinavian design agency BVD to create a branding scheme that incorporates modern lines and bold typography with the original 7-Eleven colors that have been used since the company’s start in 1927.

Overall the reception of this new branding has been positive, but not without some critical questions regarding the current trends in retrophilia for rebrands.
