Adele to Perform "Skyfall" at the 85th Annual Academy Awards
Grammy winner Adele is set to perform at the 85th Academy Awards according to a tweet from the Academy’s official twitter account.
“Best 4 Words Ever: Adele Performing At #Oscars ” read a tweet from the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
@TheAcademy later tweeted she would be performing “Skyfall”, the theme song for the new James Bond film of the same title for which Adele has already won a Golden Globe.
During her acceptance speech, she conveyed complete surprise claiming she only came for a night out and never expected to win. Looks like the new mom will get another chance to have a night out with some of Hollywood’s finest.
Adele is also a nominee for the night in the ‘Best Original Song’ category for “Skyfall,” which she co-wrote and performed. Adele’s competition for the infamous Oscar includes musical selections from Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Ted and Chasing Ice.
The performance on Feb. 24 will be the first time Adele sings the song live and her first performance since her son was born last year.
