According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy Poehler is writing a book for HarperCollins’ pop-culture imprint, It Books.
In a press release, the book is described as a memoir-type with universal appeal and “an illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons.”
When discussing meeting the Parks and Rec star, It Books editor Carrie Thornton described being “blown away by her creativity and her passion.”
Poehler’s longtime friend Tina Fey found major success with her collection of essays, Bossypants, in 2011. Girls mastermind Lena Dunham also recently made headlines with a $3.7 million book deal for a similar memoir-style book that is expected sometime this year.
A title has not yet been announced for Poehler’s book. HarperCollins plans to release the book in 2014.
