Apple, Inc. Dismisses Rumors of Cheaper iPhones

Rumors of Apple working on a cheaper version of the iPhone swarmed yesterday when The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple was working on developing lower-end products. But Apple’s Phil Schiller came out to confirm that cheap phones will “never be the future of Apple’s products.”

To add fuel to the speculation, Apple has already come down on its pricing from past years. As The New York Times pointed out over a year ago, their products have become increasingly more affordable. So it’s not completely ridiculous to think that they might be building a phone that could be accessible to even more of the population.

But for now, only Apple knows the future of their products—And they say cheap phones are not in the plans.
