Both Bon Iver Albums Certified Gold
From recording his debut album in a log cabin to headlining festivals to beating out both Nicki Minaj and Skrillex at last year’s Grammys for the Best New Artist title, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon has certainly come quite a way.
But while Vernon may already have critical accolades, a friendship with Kanye West and a legion of fans devoted to his brand of emotionally raw indie folk, he can now officially add “gold record” to that growing list
Bon Iver’s record label, Jagjaguwar, announced today via a press release that both Bon Iver albums—2008’s For Emma, For Ever and 2011’s Bon Iver—have officially crossed the 500,000 units-sold mark, thus qualifying them for gold certification.
