In a recent sit-down with MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival, director Robert Rodriguez confirmed that Bruce Willis will be returning for the long-awaited sequel to the director’s 2005 adaptation of Frank Miller’s Sin City.
Though he’s still in the process of filming several stories for the new film (dubbed Sin City: Dame to Kill For), Rodriguez took time to compliment some of the new Sin City cast members, which now has grown to include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeremy Piven, Juno Temple, Josh Brolin, and Ray Liotta. Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jamie King, Michael Madsen and Mickey Rourke are currently all set to return.
When asked about the possibility of Bruce Willis returning, however, Rodriguez was more reticent.
“I want to leave some surprises, he said, before adding, “Bruce is back, so you’ll be seeing him.”
Besides gathering a stellar cast together, Rodriguez is also shooting the film in 3D.
“3D hasn’t been used like this yet,” he claims. “We’re using the latest Jim Cameron-Vince Pace cameras that just got off the factory line. They look like Ferraris, they’re beautiful.”
