CBS Special to Address 2012 Grammy Redesign After Whitney Houston's Death

According to The Associated Press, on the eve of the 2013 Grammy Awards, CBS will broadcast an hour-long special that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes-look at the 2012 Grammys and how it handled the unexpected death of Grammy Award-winning singer Whitney Houston.

Titled “The Grammys Will Go On: A Death in the Family,” the special will feature interviews with artists such as LL Cool J, Jennifer Hudson and Bruce Springsteen.

The special will chronicle how the producers, crew and performers quickly redesigned the show to include a tribute to Houston after learning of her death with only 24 hours left before the ceremony.

Whitney Houston died last February with heart disease and cocaine use as contributing factors. She was 48 years old. The 2013 Grammy Awards will air Sunday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

“The Grammys Will Go On: A Death in the Family” is set to air Feb. 9 at 9 p.m.
