Alabama Shakes to Perform on Christoph Waltz-Hosted SNL

On Feb. 16, Django Unchained’s Christoph Waltz will join the long list of celebrities who have hosted Saturday Night Live, according to a Deadline report.

Waltz won a Golden Globe for his performance in Quentin Taratino’s latest film and is nominated for an Academy Award as well. Waltz’s episode of SNL will air about a week before the Academy Awards on Feb. 24, three days before the Academy members place their final votes. A little last-minute publicity never hurt anyone.

This will be Waltz’s first time hosting the show, and the musical guest for the night will be Alabama Shakes—A nice paring as the band is also up for some recognition this award season. The band is nominated for the Grammys’ ‘Best New Artist’ which will air on Feb. 10.
