Director Gore Verbinski, who is finishing up the remake of The Lone Ranger, has already scoped out his next project, the subject of which is not what you might expect.
According to Empire, Verbinski has been tapped to direct the adaptation of the Guy Delisle’s graphic novel, Pyongyang: A Journey In North Korea.
Pyongyang: A Journey In North Korea is a satirical account of Delisle’s two-month stay in North Korea while working on an animated French TV show.
The book details his surprise in how the totalitarian state is run. According to the report, although Delisle is one of few western citizens granted a work visa to the state, he now says that he doesn’t think he’d be welcome back.
The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty’s Steve Conrad has been hired to write the script.
