Les Misérables’ soundtrack grabbed the top spot this week on the Billboard album chart after selling 92,000 copies in the second week after its release.

The soundtrack surpassed the sales of albums by Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. Mumford & Sons’ album, Babel was a close second, selling 91,000 copies.

Among the 20 tracks Les Misérables’ soundtrack contains is a new song titled “Suddenly.” Penned by the songwriters of the original 1985 stage musical, “Suddenly” received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song today.

The last time the soundtrack of a movie based on a stage musical reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart was in 2008 with Mamma Mia!’s album.
