NBC Orders Andrew Leeds/David Lampson Comedy; Ellie Kemper to Possibly Star

Update: It appears the rumors were true. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ellie Kemper will star in the comedy Brenda Forever.

It seems Kemper’s character will be slightly different from the ditzy, unsure Erin we’re used to. Kemper will star as Brenda Miller, a 31-year-old woman whose past we don’t know much about other than she grew up “chubby” and “awkward.”

Original Text: According to Deadline, NBC has made a pilot order for Andrew Leeds and David Lampson’s TV comedy.

The TV show, titled Brenda Forever, has been the center of a bidding war between Fox and NBC with NBC coming out on top.

The show will follow two timelines: Brenda grown up as 31-year-old women and Brenda growing up as a 13-year-old girl.

Even more exciting, Ellie Kemper from The Office, an extremely desired actress in developing TV shows this year, has been rumored to star.

According to the report, Lampson and Leeds were chosen to develop the show in-house at Sony Pictures TV with the studio’s Fedora Entertainment.

Fedora’s Peter Tolan along with Lampson, Leeds and Michael Wimer will executive produce.

Brenda Forever will be Leeds and Lampson’s second go round with NBC since they came together to make Rex Is Not Your Lawyer in 2010.
