Rian Johnson, Bryan Cranston Among DGA Awards' TV Nominees

Fresh off announcing their Feature Film nominees on Tuesday, The Directors Guild of America (DGA) has now released their list for outstanding work in television and commercials as part of the 65th Annual DGA Awards.

In the Dramatic Series category, represented shows include Mad Men, The Newsroom, Breaking Bad and two episodes of Homeland. Looper writer/director Rian Johnson was nominated for his work on the Breaking Bad episode “Fifty-One.”

Speaking of Breaking Bad, lead actor Bryan Cranston also scored a nomination in the Comedic Series category for directing the Modern Family episode “Election Day.” Other shows nominated include 30 Rock, Girls, The Big Bang Theory and Louie.

The ceremony will be held on Feb. 2 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Los Angeles’ Hollywood & Highland complex.
