Paramount Sets Date for Hercules with Dwayne Johnson
According to a report by Deadline, Paramount has officially set a date for its planned Hercules movie.
The Brett Ratner-directed action film, which has Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson portraying the legendary hero, will hit theaters on Aug. 8, 2014.
The screenplay, by first-time feature writer Ryan Condal, is said to be an adaptation of the 2008 Radical Studios graphic novel, Hercules: The Thracian Wars, which takes the story away from the more supernatural Greek origins and places it in a more real-world context.
Friday Night Lights producer and Battleship director Peter Berg will executive produce.
