Toasted: Eight Famous Portraits Made From Toast
New Zealand-born, Brooklyn-based still-life artist Henry Hargreaves left his modeling career to pursue art. His works include presidential portraits done in Jell-O, deep-fried gadgets and an alphabet made up of slices of bacon.
His “Toasted Icons” is a series of iconic portraits made up entirely of thousands of pieces of toast, some barely toasted, some burnt to a crisp. The icons include members of The Beatles (from the Let it Be cover art), Marilyn Monroe and Jim Morrison.
