Yeah Yeah Yeahs Announce New Album, Mosquito
Album set for April 16 release
New York City trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs are set to release their long-awaited follow-up to 2009’s It’s Blitz! on April 16.
Mosquito will be the band’s first album in four years and was recorded at Sonic Ranch in Tornilla, Texas. Lead singer Karen O says this album is moodier and more “tripped-out” than fans are used to, with influences from reggae and psychedelia. It was produced (separately) by Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio) and Nick Launay (Arcade Fire). James Murphy also produced a track.
“So much feeling went into this record, it was the rope ladder thrown down into the ditch for us to climb up and dust ourselves off,” said O. "I hope others can climb up it too; we’re excited to share the good vibes.”

The band also previewed two brand new songs at the Glass House in Pomona. To get a feel for the band’s new material, check out the videos below (pointed out by CoS).
