Glasgow’s masters of hyperliterate baroque pop, Belle & Sebastian, have announced a North American tour for this summer.
Late last month it was announced that Belle & Sebastian would be headlining the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, and for now this remains the final appearance in the tour. They’ll be joined on five dates by Yo La Tengo.
Tickets for some dates are already on sale, with others going on sale soon. On their website the band promises to send information about pre-sales to members of their mailing list, which you can sign up for here. Full tour dates are below.
To celebrate Belle & Sebastian’s involvement in the festival, Pitchfork has produced a glorious hour-long documentary about the development of Stuart Murdoch’s songwriting style, the formation of the band, and the recording of their first two albums, Tigermilk and the masterful If You’re Feeling Sinister, both of which were released in 1996.
