DC Announces New Creative Team for Green Lantern Titles and Spin-Offs
According to a report via MTV, DC has officially announced the new creative teams set to take over their various Green Lantern properties.
Early this week, longtime Green Lantern scribe Geoff Johns announced that he would be exiting the series in order to concentrate more on his Justice League and Justice League of America runs.
Taking over Johns and artist Doug Mahnke’s duties will be writer Robert Venditti and artist Billy Tan. Venditti is perhaps best known for his Top Shelf Productions title The Surrogates, which was adapted into a 2009 thriller starring Bruce Willis. Tan meanwhile, has worked primarily on Image and Marvel titles, including a recent stint on Ultimate Comics: The Ultimates.
Green Lantern Corps will now be spearheaded by I, Vampire writer Joshua Hale Fialkov and Deadman artist Bernard Chang. Fialkov will also helm the Red Lanterns run along with former Marvel artist Alessandro Vitti (Cullen Bunn’s run on Captain America and Hawkeye)
New Guardians will now be controlled by Justin Jordan, who created The Strange Talent of Luther Strode for Image Comics, and Brad Walker who has worked on several DC projects, including Action Comics. Finally, the spin-off series Larfleeze, which centers on the titular supervillain, will go to Blue Beetle’s Keith Giffen and veteran artist Scott Kolins (Detective Comics, Final Crisis).
