Identity Thief Takes Top Box Office Spot
The Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy-starring comedy Identity Thief opened at No. 1 at the box office this weekend with $36 million, according to Deadline.
Identity Thief tells the story of Sandy Paterson (Bateman), who finds out a con-woman (McCarthy) has stolen his identity. Naturally, wackiness ensues.
Zombie film Warm Bodies came in at No. 2 with $11.7 million after its big debut last weekend.
With a cast including Hollywood A-Listers Jude Law, Rooney Mara, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Channing Tatum, Steven Soderbergh’s thriller Side Effects took third place by surprisingly only reaching $9.4 million for its opening weekend.
