Jessica Chastain to Join Liv Ullmann's Adaptation of Miss Julie
Deadline reports that Zero Dark Thirty’s Jessica Chastain will be joining Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton in an adaptation of the August Strindberg play, Miss Julie.
Considered a major work in the history of Swedish theater, the play centers on an upper-class woman and her late-night confrontation with a servant. The tension between the two eventually leads to a sexual liaison, which becomes a catalyst for an explosive and, ultimately, destructive night.
The film will be directed by Liv Ullmann. A highly respect actress and director in Sweden, Ullman is perhaps best known for her many collaborations with director Ingmar Bergman.
