Anheuser-Busch announced yesterday that Justin Timberlake will be the new Creative Director for the Bud Light Platinum brand, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The multi-talented artist will appear in an ad for the brand that will air during the Grammy Awards this Sunday.
So what else does being a Creative Director entail? The company released a statement saying Timberlake “would provide creative, musical and cultural curation for the brand.” Paul Chibe, the Vice President of marketing for the company, implied Timberlake is a perfect choice.
“Justin Timberlake is one of the greatest creative minds in the entertainment industry, and his insights will help us further define Bud Light Platinum’s identity in the lifestyle space,” he said.
Timberlake also commented on his new position as an opportunity that he hopes will both benefit the company and other artists. He said in a statement, “Bud Light Platinum brings a refined, discerning aesthetic to beer that plays well with what I’m doing. I’m looking forward to not only being a part of the creative process, but in bringing other talented musicians to the forefront as well.”
Lately, it seems to be a trend in the business world to get celebrities to fill this role. Alicia Keys recently signed on to be the Creative Director for Blackberry.
