Kathleen Kennedy Leaves Jurassic Park 4

Deadline revealed that Kathleen Kennedy, the longtime producing partner of Steven Spielberg, has departed Spielberg’s upcoming Jurassic Park 4 project.

Her husband and business partner Frank Marshall will continue to work on the feature, which has yet to secure a director.

Kennedy’s reasoning for leaving the project is that she wants to focus her energies on developing the new, J.J. Abrams-helmed Star Wars installment.

This will mark the first film in the Jurassic Park franchise without Kennedy’s involvement.

The film is currently scheduled for a 3D release on June 13, 2014.
