Rupert Grint to Go "Super" in CBS Comedy

Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint looks to be trading in his wizard robes for a superhero outfit (well, sort of).

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Grint, best known for his portrayal of Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, has signed on to star in Super Clyde, a new CBS comedy written by Greg Garcia (Raising Hope, My Name is Earl.

Grint will play the titular character, a mild-mannered fast-food worker who one day learns that he will inherit a $100,000-a-month stipend from a long-dead, eccentric uncle. A huge comic book fan, he then decides to use his newfound resources to become a superhero.

Should the series move forward, this will serve as Grint’s first major small-screen role in America (he previously lent his voice to a guest spot on American Dad!). Longtime Garcia collaborator Mike Fresco will direct the pilot.
