According to a report by Kotaku, Time Warner’s chief financial officer, John K. Martin, has confirmed that the newest entry in the Arkham series of Batman games will be released within the year.
“We also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise,” the article quotes him as saying. “So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013.”
Developed by Rocksteady Games, both 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum and 2011’s Batman: Arkham City have garnered enormous critical accolades in addition to high retail sales. Both games were written by Batman: The Animated Series writer Paul Dini. In August of last year, however, Dini announced that he would not be returning to write another Arkham game.
Warner Bros. has not provided any more details at this time.
