505 Games to Release Snoop Dogg-Inspired Videogame

In his 20 plus years in the rap game, Snoop Dogg has always reigned as a larger than life character. Now, the man who brought us “Gin and Juice” will now be lending his likeness to his own videogame.

Developed in association with 505 Games and Echo Peak, Way of the Dogg is a rhythm-action combat game that incorporates different levels based on specific Snoop Dogg tracks.

“Snoop Dogg is a true one-off and from our first creative discussions two years ago the idea of creating an original game concept around his music and love of ‘70s Kung Fu and Blaxploitation movies was a mouth-watering prospect,” Echo Peak Director Ciaran Walsh says in a press release. “The game brings these influences together in the form of visually stylish rhythm-action combat wrapped in a Blaxploitation-inspired narrative.”

Snoop Dog himself calls the game the “first true gamification of my music” and says it also incorporates his spiritual transformation into Snoop Lion.

The game is set for release later this year alongside Snoop’s new album, Reincarnated. It will be available on Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox as well as Playstation Network, Microsoft Entertainment systems and mobile platforms.
