Rhode Island’s Brown Bird announced the release of a track from its upcoming album Fits of Reason and their official tour dates for this spring.
Brown Bird’s David Lamb and MorganEve Swain are streaming via SoundCloud “Seven Hells,” the first track off of Fits of Reason.
“Seven Hells” is an example of the kind of sounds Brown Bird has been exploring and experimenting with lately in the development of their newest album. In fact, this track features an instrument never heard before in Brown Bird’s music: an electric guitar.
Brown Bird is still as bluesy and folksy as ever. But this time around, with Fits of Reason and “Seven Hells”, they’re mixing that signature sound with metal and psych-rock influences.
In the press release, Lamb explained that sudden, yet slight change in style seen in Fits of Reason:
“We’re showing a little bit more of our international influences on Fits of Reason. We’ve been listening to a lot of ‘60s and ‘70s psych-rock from around the world – Pakistan, Peru, Cambodia, Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey.”
Brown Bird also announced its spring tour dates which include a few northeastern appearances and dates for their upcoming Fits of Reason album tour. Additional tour dates will be announced at a later date.
