CBS Head Says Eighth Season of Dexter Will Be Its Last

Late yesterday during a call to investors, CBS head Les Moonves stated that the upcoming eighth season of Showtime’s Dexter will be the show’s final, according to Deadline.

This announcement supports widespread speculation that the award-winning drama is nearing its close. While Showtime entertainment President David Nevins would not confirm any plans for an end game during January’s Television Critics Association press conference, he did say the writers have “a clear end game in place.”

The eighth season of Dexter will premiere on June 30, 2013.
