Flaming Lips Announce SXSW Shows, A Year in the Life of Wayne’s Phone Film
The Flaming Lips’ latest studio release, The Terror, is set for an April 2 release on Warner Bros. To get a head-start on its release, the band is taking its live show to SXSW with an appearance at Warner’s showcase at the Belmont on March 14 and a show at Auditorium Shores on March 15.
But that’s not all The Lips have to offer for the festival. They’re bringing a film—titled A Year in the Life of Wayne’s Phone, and, as you’d guess, features footage from over a year on frontman Wayne Coyne’s iPhone. The film makes its debut at the Alamo Ritz Theater on March 13 at 9:15 p.m., with a Q&A with Coyne to follow.
As previously announced, the band set tour dates with The Black Keys, which you can check out here. The band also confirmed an April 3 performance on Late Show with David Letterman, just in time for the release of The Terror.
