Friday Night Lights Kickstarter May Be The Next Step in Rumored Sequel
For better or worse, Veronica Mars’ Kickstarter has started a trend.
Friday Night Lights, a show that belongs on many people’s list of TV shows canceled too soon, might be launching a Kickstarter to raise money for a highly desired film sequel.
Adrianne Palicki, who played Tyra Collette in the series, brought the rumored sequel to reality when she mentioned a fundraising campaign. While on the press circuit for GI Joe: Retaliation Palicki spoke to Screen Rant and said, “I think they’re starting the Kickstarter, which is insane. It’s crazy.”
She commented on her mixed feelings about the project saying, “I have multiple feelings on it. I love it so much and I’m afraid that a movie might ruin it and I don’t want that to happen. We went out on top.” She adds, “At the same time, to get to be on that show again, I would die for it. I would love to do it. I’m right there in the middle.”
Despite Palicki’s comments, there has been no official word from Peter Berg, series developer and director of the film. Still, you can bet there are plenty of fans just waiting to donate to the cause should Berg decide on the Kickstarter route.
