Gone Home Videogame to Feature Classic Riot Grrrl Music
The Fullbright Company announced their upcoming game Gone Home will feature music from the original riot grrrl bands Heavens to Betsy and Bratmobile.
The game follows Samantha Greenbriar as she deals with typical teenage problems in 1995, as described by Fullbright’s president Steve Gaynor. After being introduced to riot grrrl music, her life is changed.
Heavens to Betsy and Bratmobile are logical choices for the music, as they were a part of the initial riot grrrl movement in the early ’90s.
Gaynor spoke enthusiastically on acquiring rights for the game. He said, “Authenticity is our number one priority, and the inclusion of tracks by Heavens to Betsy and Bratmobile really drives home the era and the place and the feelings surrounding the story of Gone Home. We’re psyched.”
The game will feature six songs from both Calculated by Heavens to Betsy and Pottymouth by Bratmobile, according to the press release.
Gone Home is scheduled for release on PC, Mac and Linux later this year.
