HBO Cancels Enlightened

HBO’s Laura Dern-starring comedy/drama Enlightened won’t be returning for its third season. The series, which was also co-created by Dern and Mike White, centered on an executive with self-destructive tendencies who is trying to get it together, and Dern won a Golden Globe for her lead role in 2012.

“It was a very difficult decision,” HBO said in a statement. “We’ve decided not to continue Enlightened for a third season. We’re proud of the show, and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future.”
