Jude Law Follows Director Lynne Ramsay, Exits Jane Got A Gun

Things are not looking good for Jane Got A Gun.

Director Lynne Ramsay made headlines on Tuesday when she quit the film on the first day of production. She was almost immediately replaced by Warrior director Gavin O’Connor, but now Deadline is reporting that Jude Law has left the indie western as well.

According to the report, Law left because he signed on to the film for the opportunity to work with Ramsay, known for the dark comedy We Need to Talk About Kevin.

According to The Huffington Post, Michael Fassbender was originally cast to play the film’s hero and Joel Edgerton was set to play the villain. When Fassbender left due to scheduling conflicts, Edgerton assumed his role opposite Natalie Portman, who is also producing, and Law was cast as the new villain.

The film was scheduled to begin shooting today but there’s no word yet on who will replace Law.
