Justin Timberlake-Hosted Saturday Night Live Draws Huge Ratings
Before he’d even spoken one word, Justin Timberlake’s return to Saturday Night Live was bound to be big.
Since his first hosting duty back in 2003, Timberlake has emerged as one of the show’s most popular celebrity hosts, with his relentless enthusiasm and his penchant for making funny digital shorts about putting his junk in a box.
And, indeed, Timberlake’s charms have propelled the late night sketch show into its highest ratings in nearly 14 months, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Bolstered by a multitude of cameos (Timberlake’s inauguration into the show’s “Five-Timers Club” made way for cameos from the likes of Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, Tom Hanks, Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd—among many others), the preliminary Nielsen figures showed the episode with a 5.9 rating among metered-market households and a 15 share. This apparently makes Timberlake’s appearance the highest rated since the Chalres Barkley-hosted show back in January 2012.
