To honor the late musician Jason Molina and to help defray funeral and medical expenses for his family, Graveface Records is releasing a benefit compilation album.
The upcoming album will feature at least 13 artists who will cover Molina’s songs and artwork by Molina and William Schaff, according to Pitchfork.
In fact, the artwork by Molina (at right), is the cover art for the compilation album and the inspiration behind the album’s title, Weary Engine Blues.
Graveface Records has already released singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek’s track for Weary Engine Blues. Kozelek’s track is a cover of Molina’s 2006 song “It’s Easier Now.” You can listen to it below.
Weary Engine Blues is slated for an April 23 release. You can order the album here.
