Melissa McCarthy to Host SNL on April 6
Confirmed by US Weekly, Melissa McCarthy will return to host Saturday Night Live on April 6.
The Identity Thief actress made her first appearance in Studio 8H as host in October 2011. Once featured in L.A. troupe The Groundlings, McCarthy’s improv background assisted in her successful SNL debut that received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
Since hosting SNL, McCarthy received an Oscar nomination for her standout performance in Bridesmaids and won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for CBS’s Mike and Molly.
SNL will take a three-week break after this Saturday’s show with Justin Timberlake. The musical guest has not yet been announced for the show on April 6.
Saturday Night Live airs Saturday on NBC at 11:30 p.m. EST.
