Rainn Wilson to Star in CBS Drama Pilot

“Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.”

And now, Backstrom. Following NBC’s rejection of his Office spin-off, actor Rainn Wilson is set to star in a pilot for the new drama series on CBS, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Wilson will play the title character, a quick-tempered detective. Backstrom is based on a book series of the same name by Swedish author Leif G.W. Persson, Vulture points out.

In addition to Wilson, Entertainment Weekly went on to name a few other notable actors CBS has hired on for its newest shows: Rupert Grint, John Corbett and Eddie Murphy.
