Robert Redford Rumored to be in Talks for Captain America Sequel
In a bit of unexpected casting news on the superhero film front, Deadline is reporting that actor, director and Sundance mastermind Robert Redford is in talks for Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The film is the follow-up to 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger and is expected to be released April 2013.
The article states that Redford would take a leadership role in superhero organization S.H.I.E.L.D., which is run by Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.
Redford’s most recent project—The Company You Keep, which he directed and stars in—is set for release on April 5.
