Sam Raimi to Direct Pilot for Fox's <i>Rake</i>

Fresh off the successful blockbuster Oz: The Great and Powerful, Sam Raimi will direct the pilot for Fox’s upcoming series Rake, according to <http://www.deadline.com/2013/03/sam-raimi-to-direct-fox-pilot-rake/" target="_blank">Deadline.

Produced by Sony Pictures TV, Rake stars Greg Kinnear as the “brilliant, frustratingly charming” Keegan Joye and chronicles his chaotic personal life and his equally intense career as a criminal defense lawyer. The hour-long series is based on the Australian comedic drama of the same name.

Rake will be Raimi’s first attempt at directing a television pilot. Sony and Raimi previously worked together on the Spider-Man triology starring Toby Maguire.

Raimi will also receive an exective producer credit with Peter Tolan, Michael WIlmer, Rochard Rosburgh, Ian Collie and the Australian series creator Peter Duncon.

Production for Rake is slated to begin in the next few days.
