With the premiere a mere two months away, J.J. Abrams and the rest of the cast and crew of the newest Star Trek entry continue to remain quiet as to the exact identity of the villainous Benedict Cumberbatch character (Abrams has promised that the character has appeared in the Star Trek universe before).

That being said, the Sherlock star certainly dominates this latest international trailer.

Identified as a “top agent” from Starfleet, the character looks to have a serious vendetta against the organization, which has led him to instigate a major terrorist-like attack on London.

The trailer appears to validate early reports that the sequel will be very action-oriented, with numerous CGI-heavy action set pieces on display, including a sequence where a ship (possibly the Enterprise itself?) crashes into a populated city.

Star Trek into Darkness is set for a May 17 release.
