Tina Fey in Talks to Play Jason Bateman's Sister in This is Where I Leave You
An alternative universe may soon exist where Liz Lemon and Michael Bluth are siblings.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tina Fey is currently in negotiations to star as Jason Bateman’s sister in This is Where I Leave You.
Adapted from the 2010 novel by Jonathan Tropper, This is Where I Leave You tells the story of a dysfunctional family that came together as a result of their recently deceased father’s last request that his four children spend a week together under the same roof.
If she signs on to this project, Fey would play Bateman’s unhappily married older sister named Wendy who finds out her first love now has brain cancer. According to Entertainment Weekly, Bateman’s character will be the recently divorced middle child named Judd. The remaining siblings have yet to be cast, but Kathryn Hahn is in talks to play Bateman’s sister-in-law.
Despite the character and plot descriptions, the film is described as a comedy-drama. Shawn Levy, who worked with Fey on Date Night, is attached to direct This is Where I Leave You as well as co-produce with Paula Weinstein.
Without skipping a beat since the recent series finale of 30 Rock, Fey is promoting her most recent film Admission with co-star Paul Rudd. Fey is also currently shooting The Muppets sequel titled The Muppets… Again! in Europe.
