Twitter Releases Windows 8 App

The Verge reports that the long-awaited Twitter app for Windows 8 has finally been released.

According to the article, while the app retains regular features such as the Connect and Discover tab, it has also been outfitted with several Windows 8-specific features such as the use of a Search charm and a designated Twitter Live Tile that appears on the Start screen.

Twitter initially announced plans for the app last October, saying it would be launching “in the coming months.” The Windows 8 Twitter app was not released until Wednesday, according to Wired.
