Watch the Trailer for NBC's Hannibal

Deadline reports that NBC has posted the first full trailer for their upcoming drama Hannibal.

Poised as a prequel to Thomas Harris’s first Hannibal Lecter novel Red Dragon, which was first made into a film by Michael Mann in 1986 and again in 2002 by Brett Ratner, the series will focus on Red Dragon protagonist Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his burgeoning relationship with Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen).

The show also stars Laurence Fishburne and Caroline Dhavernas. The pilot was written by Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me scribe Bryan Fuller. Twilight Saga: Eclipse and 30 Days of Night filmmaker David Slade will direct the pilot and serve as executive producer.

From the look of the trailer, the show, which premieres April 4, will feature a level of gore not typically seen in network television.
